LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Wilbur N. Cundiff, 85, of Louisville died Friday, Aug. 29, 2008, at Baptist Hospital East.
Mr. Cundiff was born Mar. 5, 1923. He was a graduate of Male High School and attended the University of Louisville. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy and was a 32nd Degree Mason.
He worked 42 years for the B.F. Goodrich Chemical Co. During retirement, he volunteered with the Blinded Veterans Association and the TARC board.
He earned numerous volunteer awards, including the 2002 Mayor’s Liberty Award and the 2007 Metro Disabilities Council Breaking Barriers Award.
Survivors include his wife, Anna Laura Welch Cundiff, to whom he was married 63 years; three daughters, Suzanne (Paul) Watkins, Tina Cundiff and Beth (Gene) Hancock; a sister, Beverly Grimmer; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
He was predeceased by his parents; a daughter, Debbie; and a granddaughter, Angie.
Services were Wednesday, Sept. 3,at Evergreen Funeral Home on Preston Highway. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery.
