Events for the month of January

Annual Red Cross blood drive at TCHS

Trimble County High School senior Elizabeth Rexroat is organizing this year’s Red Cross Blood Drive, set for 1-6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 24, in the Trimble County Middle School gymnasium.
Donors must be at least 16 years old (if 16, must have parental consent) and must weigh at least 110 pounds to be eligible. Remember to drink plenty of fluids and eat breakfast and lunch before giving blood. Students who are on sports teams that are scheduled to play a game or to practice should not donate. Donors should wait at least 12 hours before resuming strenuous activity.

The Trimble County Board of Education meets at 6 p.m. at the board office on Wentworth Drive, Bedford.

Saturday, Jan. 8

The Mount Byrd Christian Church food pantry and clothes closet will be open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Alcoholics Anonymous meets at 8 p.m. every Saturday above Bedford Post Office.

Monday, Jan. 10

Milton Lions Club meets at 6:30 p.m. the second and fourth Monday of each month at the clubhouse on U.S. 421 North.

Tuesday, Jan. 11

Bedford Rotary Club meets at noon every Tuesday in Trimble County Public Library meeting room.
Milton-Madison Bridge Project officials are hosting a public meeting at 6 p.m. in the gym of the new Milton Elementary School, 10628 U.S. 421 North.

Thursday, Jan. 12

Milton City Commission meets at 7 p.m. in the municipal building

Monday, Jan. 17 –
Martin Luther King Day

Trimble County Schools are closed today for the federal holiday.
Trimble County Fiscal Court holds its quarterly evening meeting at 5:30 p.m. in the conference room of the judge-executive’s office, Bedford.
Bedford City Commission meets at 7 p.m. in the City Hall meeting room at Morgan Community Center.

Wednesday, Jan. 19

Trimble CARES meets at noon at the Family Resources and Youth Services Center, located in the back of Trimble County High School.
The Trimble County Board of Education meets at 6 p.m. at the board office on Wentworth Drive, Bedford.
