CARROLLTON, Ky. – Wanda Lee Lowry, 69, of Carrollton died Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2008, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Ky.
Funeral services were Saturday, Aug. 23, at the Worthville United Pentecostal Church in Worthville, Ky., with the Revs. Raymond Sharon, Glen Gibson, James Allen and Edgar Tetrick officiating. Burial was in the Worthville Cemetery.
Mrs. Lowry was born May 30, 1939, in Elwood City, Penn., to the late Clark Alexander and Hallie Blanche (Rough) Shipley. She belonged to the Worthville United Pentecostal Church and was a ladies auxiliary member. She also was a housewife and worked as secretary at the church.
Survivors include her husband, the Rev. Warren Lowry of Worthville; two daughters, Darlene Yvonne Stewart of Turners Station, Ky., and Naomi Joy Foley of Lashmeet, W.Va.; two sons, Raymond Daniel Beatty of Worthville and Lawrence Thomas Beatty II of Pleasureville, Ky.; a sister, Joann Underwood of Jacksonville, Fla.; a half-sister, Grace Forsythe of St. Petersburg, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Meldrum and Jean Drener.
Pallbearers were Raymond Beatty Jr., Jacob Beatty, Dereck Mullins, James Foley, Gene Stewart, Greg Spaulding and Donald Poe. Honorary pallbearers were Walker Lucas Jr., Steve Adams, Bob Scott, Tony Hon, Millard Hollingsworth, Don Lawrence, Bob Stewart and Gary Willhoite.
