Trimble upends District rival North Oldham, 67-51

Trimble County’s Lady Raiders, led by the triple threat of Jessie Dunlap, Paige Black and Katie Temple, took control of the game early Friday and dismantled the North Oldham Lady Mustangs by a 67-51 score on a night in which the school held a fundraiser for the American cancer Society. Dunlap led the Lady Raiders’ offensive effort with 17 points. Black chipped in 16 points and Temple added 15 as Trimble led at every quarter stop.

The Lady Raiders fronted 16-7 after the first eight minutes. Trimble built the lead to 16 at halftime, leading 32-16. The Lady raiders front by 21 after three quarters at 50-29. North Oldham eventually pulled to within 12 in the waning minutes of the game before succombing by the final 16-point margin.

“It’s a big relief,” Trimble Coach Kerrie Stewart said.  “There was a little bit of a sense of urgency tonight. We were very scrappy from the beginning. I’m very pleased with the effort and the way this team went out and took care of business when they had to.”
