Trimble tennis teams have busy week

On Tuesday, April 12, the Trimble County High School boys’ tennis team was defeated by Collins High School by a match score, 2-3.

In No. 1 singles action Trimble’s Nick Kleinhenz was defeated by John Oakley, 4-6, 5-7. Trimble’s No. 2 singles player, Dylan Stethan, won against Sam Rathke, 6-1, 6-3. Trimble forfeited the number 3 singles.

In No. 1 doubles play Trimble County’s Damon Copeland and Reese True defeated Collins’ Luke Noel and Derek Stivers, 6-0, 6-0

In No. 2 doubles Taylor Starks and J.T McClanahan were defeated by Collins High School’s John Usher and David Hormell, 0-6, 0-6.

Trimble teams fall at Carroll County

Trimble’s girls were defeated 4-1 by Carroll County on Wednesday, April 13.

“Both teams appear(ed) to be very rusty due to practice cancellations because of weather issues in addition to having a week off for spring break,” Carroll County head coach Larry Morgan said. “The doubles’ duel between the No. 2 teams was very exciting with two tiebreakers and good shot making.”

Match results: No. 1 singles: Trimble’s Kasi Fogle won 6-0, 6-1 over Carroll’s Lyndie Burns; No. 2 singles: Carroll’s Nina Kundic won 6-0, 6-1 over Trimble’s Sabrina Vest; No. 3 singles: Tory Bickers won 6-4, 6-3 over Trimble’s Kalee Cook.

No. 1 doubles: Carroll’s Haley Hendrick and Katie Martin won 6-0, 6-0 over Trimble’s Elisabeth Moore and Cierra Harmon; No. 2 doubles: Carroll’s Megan Harris and Linda Cruz won 7-6, 7-6 over Trimble’s Micah Hess and Alex Lawhorn.

In boys’ action Carroll (2-2) defeated Trimble (0-4) Wednesday night at the Carroll County Park.

In No. 1 singles Carroll’s Raven Powers won 6-2, 6-4 over Nick Kleinhenz.

In No. 2 singles Trimble’s Dylan Stethen won 4-6, 4-6 over Carroll’s Josh McCarty.

In No. 1 doubles Trimble’s Brian Perry and Michael Steenken won 6-1, 4-2 over Carroll’s Dakota Corbin and Leo Raffenberg.

Trimble forfeited matches in No. 3 singles and No. 2 doubles.

Trimble netters battle at Gallatin

On Thursday, Trimble’s girls defeated Gallatin County 3-2. In No. 1 singles play Kasi Fogle defeated Gallatin’s Savannah Clark, 6-0, 6-0. In No. 2 singles Trimble’s Kalee Cook defeated Amanda Black 6-0, 6-1. In No. 3 singles Sabrina Vest was defeated by Gallatin’s Rachel Noble 0-6, 3-6.

In No. 1 doubles Trimble’s Cierra Harmon and Elizabeth Moore were defeated 5-7, 4-6 by Deanna Griffen and Kristine Tunstall. In No. 2 doubles Trimble’s Micah Hess and Alex Lawson defeated Melissa Besslmas and Anelia Samuel, 6-0, 6-3.

Gallatin County won the boys’ match by a 2-3 score after Trimble forfeited in No. 3 singles play. Trimble’s Damon Copeland played an exhibition match and defeated Brady Carlton, 6-0, 6-0.

In No. 1 singles play Trimble’s Nick Klienhenz played what Coach Vanita Fogle termed “an awesome match” against Joseph Ackerman and was defeated with a score of 4-6, 4-6. 
Trimble’s No. 2 singles player Dylan Stethan defeated Joseph Mollins, 6-2, 6-1.

Trimble’s No. 1 doubles pairing of Reese True and Damon Copeland won against Eli Ackerman and Luke Ackerman, 4-6, 6-3 and 6-4.

In No. 2 doubles play J.T. Mclanahan and Zach Whitaker were defeated, 4-6, 2-6.
