The Trimble Banner publishes all misdemeanors, felonies and small-claims judgments recorded in district court, as well as all civil suits recorded in circuit court. Juvenile court cases are not published.

Crime reports are provided by local law enforcement agencies. Charges or citations reported to The Trimble Banner do not imply guilt.

The following cases were heard the week of May 13, 2014.

FELONIES
Steven W. Barrett – arraignment – no seatbelt, rear license not illuminated, operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs 1st offense, possession of open alcohol container in a vehicle, possession of marijuana, operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs 1st offense, 3rd degree possession of a controlled substance (unspecified), tampering with physical evidence, failure of owner to maintain required insurance 1st offense. Not guilty plea, bail $1500 – 10% cash, must remain law abiding, not to possess or consume any illegal drugs or alcohol, not to drive without a valid license/insurance. Continued to 5-27-14.
Steven J. Lizotte – arraignment – manufacturing methamphetamine 1st offense, unlawful possession of meth precursor 1st offense, possession of marijuana. Not guilty plea, continued to 5-27-14.
Alice M. Riggs – arraignment – manufacturing methamphetamine 1st offense, unlawful possession of meth precursor 1st offense. Not guilty plea, continued to 5-27-14.
Alice Marie Riggs – arraignment – 1st degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) 1st offense, unlawful distribution of a meth precursor 1st offense, possession of drug paraphernalia. Not guilty plea, $5000 surety, no contact with co-defendants, remain law abiding, random drug testing, report to pretrial  contact within 24 hours, not to possess or consume any illegal drugs. Continued to 5-27-14.
Jamie L. Sachleben – arraignment - manufacturing methamphetamine 1st offense, unlawful possession of meth precursor 1st offense. Not guilty plea, continued to 5-27-14. $2500 surety, must remain law abiding, no contact with co-defendants, report to pretrial within 24 hours, not to possess or consume any illegal drugs, random drug testing.
Kirk Savage – arraignment – 1st degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) 1st offense, 1st degree trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine) over 2 gms 1st offense, possession of drug paraphernalia. Not guilty plea, continued to 5-27-14.
Larry W. Stewart - preliminary hearing – careless driving, operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs aggravator, 4th offense, operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs aggravator, 3rd offense, possession of open alcohol container in a vehicle, no seatbelt – continued to 6-10-14; failure of owner to maintain required insurance 1st offense, proof shown, dismissed.
Damon Joseph Albert - preliminary hearing - manufacturing methamphetamine 2nd offense, unlawful possession of meth precursor 1st offense, convicted felon in possession of a firearm, 1st degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) 1st offense. Preliminary hearing held, probable cause exists – refer to grand jury for potential indictment. $7500 bond, 10% cash, monitored conditional release - remain law abiding, not to possess or consume any illegal drugs,  drug testing, report to pretrial.
Benjamin David Hancock – review – ordered to appear to review child support 5-27-14.
Edward McClanahan - preliminary hearing – theft by deception including cold checks. preliminary hearing held, probable cause exists – refer to grand jury for potential indictment. Amend bond to $1000 cash, remain law abiding.
Carroll E. Webster - preliminary hearing  - 1st degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) 1st offense - Preliminary hearing held, probable cause exists – refer to grand jury for potential indictment; unlawful possession of a meth precursor 1st offense – dismissed without prejudice for lack of probable cause.
Marinetti Mazzini – review – no further action necessary.

MISDEMEANORS

Taylor Allen Fox - show cause hearing – ok, paid.
Jarred W. Rabourn – arraignment – 3rd degree terroristic threatening, 4th degree assault domestic violence with minor injury. Not guilty plea, continued to 5-27-14.
Joseph Shaw - show cause hearing – failed to appear, bench warrant issued. $130 cash, no surety and alcohol assessment due.
Branden Gray – review – ok paid.
Timothy H. Broughton - show cause hearing – Continued to 5-27-14.
James D. Bell - pretrial conference – reckless driving, 2nd degree criminal mischief, failure of owner to maintain required insurance 1st offense, improper display of plates, possession of open alcohol container in a motor vehicle, no operator’s license, operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs aggravator, 1st offense. Failed to appear, bench warrant issued, $500 cash due.
John York, Sr. – sentencing – 3rd degree criminal trespassing. Remand.
Randy K. Hedges - pretrial conference – 4th degree assault domestic violence with minor injury. Diversion, pass for 3 months, if no problems will dismiss. No unlawful contact with witness, remain law abiding. Review 8-19-14.
Alyssa Irene Raisor – sentencing – non support. Continued to 5-27-14.
Constance Laverne Souza – arraignment – (39) 2nd degree cruelty to animals. Not guilty plea, continued to 5-27-14.
Rachel Russell – arraignment – possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia. Failed to appear, bench warrant issued, $500 cash.
Angela M. Purvis – public intoxication, 2nd degree possession of a controlled substance (unspecified). Not guilty plea, continued to 5-27-14.
Ronald Neil Howdeshell – arraignment - – (39) 2nd degree cruelty to animals. Not guilty plea, continued to 5-27-14.
Matthew C. Buchanan – arraignment – 2nd degree disorderly conduct. Diversion, pass for 3 months, if no problems will dismiss. Review 8-19-14.
Zachary Fox – arraignment – 3rd degree criminal trespassing, 4th degree assault with minor injury. Failed to appear, bench warrant issued, $500 cash, send bond forfeiture notice to surety.
William T. Gaddis – diversion completion – successful diversion, dismissed.
Danton Harper – arraignment – theft by deception including cold checks, contempt of court. $415 unsecured bond, 10 days jail, remain law abiding, pay restitution as ordered, suspend until 6-24-14. Purge of contempt by 6-24-14.
Sara R. Angell – arraignment – possession of marijuana – guilty plea, $150 fine, 15 days conditionally discharged for 2 years; possession of drug paraphernalia – guilty plea, $250 fine, $153 court costs due 11-25-14, must remain law abiding, attend and complete marijuana education program (proof by 8-19-14).
Ryan Alexander – review – theft by deception including cold checks. Guilty plea, make restitution, fees and court costs of $306.75. Apply bond and $30 to sheriff’s fee and close out.

TRAFFIC

Ryan D. Alexander – review – no seatbelt. Recall DOT, continued to 7-22-14.
Ryan D. Alexander – review – speeding 13 mph over the limit, failure to notify DOT with change of address, failure to register transfer of vehicle, license to be in possession. Recall DOT, continued to 7-22-14.
Melinda Clark - show cause hearing – ok, paid.
Roman Rosas - pretrial conference – leaving scene fo accident/failure to render aid or assistance, no seatbelt, no operator’s license, failure of non-owner operator to maintain required insurance 1st offense, operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol aggravator 3rd offense. Failed to appear, bench warrant issued, $500 cash.
Kathy J. Thronton – arraignment – speeding 21 mph over the limit, booster seat violation – guilty plea. $50 fine, $143 court costs; failure to produce insurance card – amend to failure to maintain required insurance 1st offense.  $500 fine, $400 suspended. Continued to 11-25-14.
Marie E. Velazquez-Campos – arraignment – failure to dim headlights, careless driving, no operator’s license, possession of open alcohol container in a vehicle – merge, dismissed; operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs aggravator 1st offense. Guilty plea to DUI 1st offense with aggravator. $718 fine and costs due 11-25-14. 30 day loss of license, attend and complete alcohol and drug education program, 4 days in jail, 1 day credit.
Jeremiah Waugh – arraignment – speeding 10 mph over the limit, failure of owner to maintain required insurance 1st offense. Failed to appear, DOT notified, bench warrant issued, $250 cash.
Johnny A. York, Sr. - show cause hearing – ok, proof filed.
Ashley N. Satterly – arraignment – operating on suspended license, failure to produce insurance card, failure to notify DOT of address change. Not guilty plea, continued to 5-27-14 for proof of license and insurance.
Lakiesha R. Mabry – arraignment – careless driving, merge, dismiss; failure to produce insurance card. Guilty plea - amend to failure to maintain required insurance 1st offense. $500 fine, $400 suspended, $143 court costs due 8-19-14.
John W. McClellan – arraignment – no seatbelt, operating a vehicle on suspended/revoked license. Not guilty plea, continued to 8-19-14 with valid license.
Joshua L. Kendall – arraignment – speeding 10 mph over the limit, no seatbelt – guilty plea, fines and court costs paid; failure of owner to maintain required insurance 1st offense, proof shown, dismissed.
David Leach – arraignment – operating on suspended/revoked license. Not guilty plea, continued to 5-27-14 to have valid license.
Danton R. Harper – arraignment – Warrant - operating on suspended/revoked license, failure to notify DOT with address change, careless driving. Amend bond to $500, continued to 6-24-14 with valid license.
Jason L. Henson – arraignment – improper turning, no/expired plates, failure to produce insurance card, operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol aggravator 1st offense. Not guilty plea, continued to 6-10-14.
Ryan D. Alexander – other hearing – operating on suspended/revoked license - not guilty plea, continued to 7-22-14 with valid license; failure to produce insurance card, proof shown, dismissed.
Tracy S. Allen - show cause hearing – Failed to appear, DOT notified.
Leah N. Albus - show cause hearing – continued to 5-27-14 with valid license.
