Wednesday, Dec. 5
The Trimble County Board of Education meets at the Trimble County High School Library at 6 p.m.

Thursday, Dec. 6
Trimble County Public Library presents A Trimble County Christmas from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Family and friends are invited to enjoy holiday fun. At 5:30 p.m. make Holiday crafts, pet a sheep, listen to music, enjoy refreshments, read memories and churn butter. AND meet Santa Claus! At 6:30 p.m. there will be Holiday storytelling.

Trimble County Hymn Sing will be held at 7 p.m. at Bedford Springs Church off US Hwy 42W on Shepherd Lane. Everyone welcome.

Friday, Dec. 7
Trimble Rotary Club will have their annual Chili supper starting at 5 p.m. at the Morgan Community Center. There will be chili, sandwich, dessert and drink. Don’t cook, come out and eat with Rotary.

Light Up Bedford is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 7. Signature HealthCare has begun putting up cutouts and stringing lights. The Bedford City Commissioners and Mayor will be on hand at the Morgan Community Center to serve refreshments starting at 6 p.m.

Saturday, Dec. 8
Trimble County Historical Society will have their pitch-in Christmas Dinner at noon at the Trimble County Public Library. Each member and a guest are welcome to come and enjoy fellowship, food and fun. There will not be a meeting.  

Pleasant View Baptist Church, Wises Landing, will have an Open House from 2-4 p.m.  Music and refreshments for the community. Come and enjoy the fellowship.

Monday, Dec. 10
Trimble County Public Library will host a ‘learn Publisher Basic’ Class from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Subjects include how to make brochures, business cards, greeting cards and more. Sign up by calling 502-255-7362.

Thursday, Dec. 13
Milton City Commission will meet at the Milton Municipal Building at 7 p.m.

Friday, Dec. 14
Trimble County High School basketball teams host Oldham County in a varsity doubleheader. The girls’ varsity  game begins at 6 p.m. The boys’ varsity game starts at 7:30 p.m.

Saturday, Dec. 15
The Trimble County Raiders basketball team hosts Western Hills. Varsity  game begins at 7:30 p.m.

Monday-Tuesday Dec. 17-18
Bedford Christian Church presents the annual “Live Nativity” from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the churchyard. Everyone welcome to come and see this spectacular scene.

Monday, Dec. 17
Trimble County Fiscal Court will hold their monthly meeting at the Trimble County Cooperative Extension Service meeting room at 9 a.m.

The Bedford City Commission will hold their monthly meeting at the Morgan Community Center at 10 a.m.

The Trimble County Raiders basketball team hosts Walden. Varsity  game begins at 7 p.m.

Thursday-Friday Dec. 20-21
Bedford Christian Church presents the annual Christmas play “Upon This Night” at 7 p.m. The community is invited to attend this event.

Friday, Dec. 21
The Trimble County Lady Raiders basketball team hosts Western Hills. Varsity  game begins at 7:30 p.m.

Sunday, Dec. 23
Antioch Baptist Church, US HWY 421S, will have a Christmas play at 5:30 p.m. with a Homecoming Dinner afterwards. Everyone invited.

Monday, Dec. 24
Bedford Christian Church will hold Christmas Eve Candle Light service at 10 p.m. The community is invited to attend this event.

Special Notices

Tri-County CAA has been awarded $3909 in federal funds under the Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program. The money will be used for emergency food and shelter programs in Trimble County. Public or private voluntary agencies interested in applying for EFSP Program funds must contact Pamela Sage at 502-255-7514 by December 12, 2012.

Bedford Masonic Lodge No. 158 F&AM meets the fourth Monday of each month. New meeting place is the old Methodist Church located at 266 Church St.

Milton Masonic Lodge #947 meets the 1st Monday of each month at the Milton Lodge located at 10026 Highway 421 North Milton. Meal starts at 6:30 p.m. Meeting at 7 p.m.

JCTC Trimble County Adult Education offers FREE tutoring for GED preparation, brush up on academic skills, college preparation, National Career Readiness Certificate through ACT (to improve employability), paraeducator testing, learning to speak English, and more. The Center is open Monday and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for classes and open lab. Testing and orientations are given on Tuesdays and Fridays by appointment. Classes and some appointments are available on Wednesdays. Other appointments are available. Students may earn incentives and great prizes for reaching certain milestones while supplies last.
