Commodity re-certifications must be done before the next distribution which is October 25th.   Please bring your proof of income with you.  This is for both senior and regular commodity recipients. Please call to set up an appointment at 255-7514.

Trimble County High School Raiders football hosts Kentucky Country Day 7:30 p.m.

Saturday, Oct. 27
Milton United Methodist Church, 11100 Hwy 421N, Milton will host a dinner/baked goods auction from 4:30-7 p.m. Meal includes chili or bean soup, cornbread, drink and dessert for $5. Kids meal: hot dog, chips, drink and dessert for $2. Meals start at 4:30; baked goods auction at 5:30 and 6:30. Everyone invited.

The Trimble County Alumni Banquet will be held at the Bedford Elementary School Cafeteria. The event will begin with a “Meet and Greet” at 5 p.m. The banquet meal will be served at 6 p.m. The event will feature a “Celebrity Roast” of retired teacher and coach J.T. Peniston. All alumni of Trimble County High School and the former Milton High School--including former students and players of Mr. Peniston--are invited as are all teachers who were colleagues of Mr. Peniston during his nearly five decades of service to the school. Admission is $15 per person or $25 per couple.

The Pleasant View Baptist Church will host a Fall Festival from 3-6 p.m. with food, fun and games. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Sunday, Oct. 28
Good News Homes will host an Open House from 1-4 p.m. at 1088 Hwy 42 West in Bedford. Everyone invited to attend and take a tour of one of the transitional apartments, meet current residents and staff and learn about Good News Homes. Light refreshments will be provided.

Monday, Oct. 29
Trimble County Public Library will offer free computer classes for Power Point Advanced from 6:30-8:30 p.m. To register, call the library at 502-255-7362.

Wednesday, Oct. 31
Trimble County Halloween treat or trick will be observed from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012. Children up through 12 years old are allowed to dress in costume. Remember to use reflective tape and/or carry a flashlight. Motorist should be more alert at this time for children crossing the streets. Porch lights should be on to signify participation in giving treats.

Thursday, Nov. 1
Trimble County Hymn Sing will be held at 7 p.m. at Milton Baptist Church on US Hwy 421N. Everyone welcome.

Trimble County Arts Council presents the Judith Pratt Shields Memorial Art show and Juried Competition on display at the Trimble County Public Library community Room from Oct. 1-31. An artist reception and Award presentation will be Saturday, Oct. 20 from 3-5 p.m. Community welcome to view all month at regular hours and attend reception.

Preschool Story Time is at the Trimble County Public library every Tuesday 10:30 a.m., Wednesday 10:30 a.m. and 3rd Thursday of every month at 6:30 p.m.  

Bedford Masonic Lodge No. 158 F&AM meets the fourth Monday of each month. New meeting place is the old Methodist Church located at 266 Church St.

The Trimble Co. Local Emergency Planning Committee would like to invite any one interested in serving on or working with the committee to our next meeting on November 13th at 6:30 p.m. at the Trimble Co Extension Office.  Topics to be covered include:  the Roles and Responsibilities of the LEPC, a 211 Update, and a LEPC Social Networking Update.

JCTC Trimble County Adult Education offers FREE tutoring for GED preparation, brush up on academic skills, college preparation, National Career Readiness Certificate through ACT (to improve employability), paraeducator testing, learning to speak English, and more. The Center is open Monday and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for classes and open lab. Testing and orientations are given on Tuesdays and Fridays by appointment. Classes and some appointments are available on Wednesdays. Other appointments are available. Students may earn incentives and great prizes for reaching certain milestones while supplies last.
