Wednesday, Oct. 10
Trimble County High School will host the KHSAA 31st District Volleyball Tournament. Winners of Monday’s game will play for the district championship at 7 p.m.

Fri.-Sun., Oct. 12-14
Pleasant View Baptist Church, Wises Landing, will hold a weekend revival beginning Friday at 7 p.m. and ending Sunday with dinner on the grounds after the Sunday morning message which begins at 10:30 a.m. Messages by Earl Wayne Perry, Richard Poe and Forrest Ritchie; Special music by Covington Ridge; Vicki Banks and Delores Ennis. Everyone invited to come.

Saturday, Oct. 13
Bedford Fire Department will hold a Fall Festival Saturday, Oct. 13 with a Chili Dinner from noon until all is gone. Cornhole tournament with sign in at 12 and games begin at 1 p.m. Other activities include raffles, dessert wheel, bobbing for apples, pumpkin painting and face painting. Trimble County Historical Society will meet at 1 p.m. at the Trimble County Public Library. A DVD presentation of Kentucky Generals of the Civil War will be shown prior to meeting. Everyone welcome.

Tri-County Ramblers will be singin’ & pickin’ at The Gathering Place (Old Methodist Church on Church ST., Bedford) at 6:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy the entertainment of Tri-County Ramblers: Jim Monk, Richard Ginn, Jim Bingham, Carroll Stangle and Ron Harmon.

Sunday, Oct. 14
Bedford Pentecostal Church, Hwy 42, will celebrate their 88th church anniversary Sunday, Oct. 14 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Ron Tiller ministering. Meal follows service. Everyone welcome.

Friday, Oct. 19

Milton Elementary School Annual Fish Fry will start at 11 a.m. with food, fun, silent auction and more.

Commodity re-certifications must be done before the next distribution which is October 25th.   Please bring your proof of income with you.  This is for both senior and regular commodity recipients. Please call to set up an appointment at 255-7514.

Trimble County Arts Council presents the Judith Pratt Shields Memorial Art show and Juried Competition on display at the Trimble County Public Library community Room from Oct. 1-31. An artist reception and Award presentation will be Saturday, Oct. 20 from 3-5 p.m. Community welcome to view all month at regular hours and attend reception.

Trimble County Halloween treat or trick will be observed from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012. Children up through 12 years old are allowed to dress in costume. Remember to use reflective tape and/or carry a flashlight. Motorist should be more alert at this time for children crossing the streets. Porch lights should be on to signify participation in giving treats.

Preschool Story Time is at the Trimble County Public library every Tuesday 10:30 a.m., Wednesday 10:30 a.m. and 3rd Thursday of every month at 6:30 p.m.  

Bedford Masonic Lodge No. 158 F&AM meets the fourth Monday of each month. New meeting place is the old Methodist Church located at 266 Church St.

JCTC Trimble County Adult Education offers FREE tutoring for GED preparation, brush up on academic skills, college preparation, National Career Readiness Certificate through ACT (to improve employability), paraeducator testing, learning to speak English, and more. The Center is open Monday and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for classes and open lab. Testing and orientations are given on Tuesdays and Fridays by appointment. Classes and some appointments are available on Wednesdays. Other appointments are available. Students may earn incentives and great prizes for reaching certain milestones while supplies last.
