Shake It Up Cafe’ Vacation Bible School (VBS) continues at Bedford Christian Church from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Please pre-register Pre-K through 5th grade children at the following website http://www.cokesburyvbs.com/shake-it-up-cafe/Bedford_Christian_Church_VBS or call the church office at 502-255-4413. All children in this age group are welcome to attend. An adult Bible study will be held in conjunction with the youth VBS - please sign up on the same website and click on the ‘volunteer’ button to register for this class.
The Milton Baptist Church vacation Bible school continues. The theme of this year’s VBS is “Rev It Up For Jesus” starting at 6:30 each night. Every child will receive a Hot Wheel. On Wednesday, June 15, a race car will be available for everyone to have their picture taken in. On Thursday, June 16, Air Methods will have their new helicopter at the church. Come enjoy a fun filled week as we “Rev It Up For Jesus!”

Trimble County CARES will meet at noon at the Milton City Park for lunch and meeting.
Former employees and retirees of Madison’s Reliance/Rockwell/Baldor are invited to a reunion on Wednesday, June 15, at The Pines Restaurant. The reunion will be held at 11:30 a.m. at The Pines Restaurant in Madison. Call 812/274-4215 by June 8, 2011 for reservations and details.
Commodity distribution is today from 3:30 - 5:30 p.m. This has changed from the usual time this month only due to the fair.

Guest speaker for the Trimble County Historical Society meeting Saturday at 1 p.m. will be Howard McEwen, CFA, Free Lance Writer, Historic Fiction. He will give a presentation on his newly released book “Wrath” which tells the story of Kentucky State Senator William Goebel who shot and killed a man in broad open daylight in 1895. Five years later he was being sworn in as Governor of Kentucky, while laying on his death bed, from a gunshot wound from an assassin’s gun.
Keith Harmon birthday. In celebration of his 89th birthday, there will be an Open House for retired Trimble County Jailer Keith Harmon at his residence on 295 Harmon Lane on June 18th from 2-4 p.m. All friends and family are invited to attend.
Vacation Bible School will be held Monday, June 20, through Thursday, June 23, at Mount Tabor Wesleyan Church, 1450 Palmyra Road (Hwy. 1226). The sessions will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. each evening. All children ages 4 through 12 are welcome.

The Trimble County Alumni Association will meet at the Trimble County Public Library at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 30. The meeting is open to all persons interested in event planning for next year’s Alumni Banquet and the upcoming centennial of Trimble County High School.

JCTC Trimble Adult Education offers free services for GED preparation, college preparation, ESL, etc. The GED Test is free through June 30. After this date, test fee will be $60. Students can earn rewards while achieving their goals. Call (502) 255-9191 to schedule an appointment.

Trimble County Arts Council is sponsoring an art exhibit during the month of June at the Trimble County Library. Adults from Trimble County and the surrounding area (Madison Ind., and Carroll, Henry, and Oldham counties) have entered. The show will be on display beginning the first week of June.
