On Feb. 7, 2012, The Trimble County Arts Council received funds from the Bob Tribble Memorial, distributed by the Bedford Rotary Club. Tribble was a member for many years and a past president of the club.
Funds totaling $750 were acuumulated by friends and associates since Bob’s death in 2008. Bob’s widow, Joan, traveled from Lexington to present the check and share in the joy of the event. Both Bob and Joan were supporters of the arts in Trimble County and in the Louisville area. Following Bob’s death Joan and the family selected the Trimble County Arts Council to receive the funding.
Bob was a veteran of the Pacific Theatre during World War II. He was deeply committed to assisting Rotary’s Cataract Campaign for people in developing countries and Rotary’s campaign to eradicate polio worldwide. he also had a special interest in the graphic arts.
Joan taught English and Composition at the community college level for many years. Following the couple’s retirement to Trimble County in 1977 Joan became an important supporter of the Trimble County Public Library.
As noted by Lynn Horine, President of the Arts Council, the gift is greatly appreciated and will create more opportunities to support all the arts in Trimble County.
