Milton resident John Satterly in his work with a land surveying crew encountered a large snake on Carlisle Road on May 21. He found the snake on the road and stopped traffic long enough to capture it, almost certainly saving it from death. The snake, however, was unappreciative of his rescuer and bit him on the hand. During the remainder of the work day, Satterly removed several tiny teeth from his hand. The snake and Satterly both survived the encounter.
