Special to The Trimble Banner

The Trimble County Middle School football Raiders kicked off their season in grand fashion last Thursday evening when they hosted Carroll County Middle School Panthers. The Raiders routed the Panthers 38-12 by playing exceptionally well on three out of four phases of the game.

Bradey McCane, who leads the offense as quarterback, ran for one touchdown and threw for another to connect with Kaje Brummett.

Brummett lines up as a running back and had the opportunity to score another touchdown and a two-point conversion. The other offensive touchdown came from fullback Johnny Pollock.

The defense got a lift when Easton Stombaugh, defensive end, ran into a pass intended for a Carroll County tight end. Stombaugh intercepted the pass in stride and capped off the 50 yard run with another Raider touchdown. Although the Raiders special teams gave up a touchdown early, they regained their credibility when Tyler Turocy returned a punt for a touchdown.
