Solie Smith, 77, Carrollton, died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2012 in Carrollton.

Born Mar. 21, 1934 in Owen County, he was the son of the late Charles and Virginia Garrett Smith.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Louise Smith, Carrollton; three daughters, Diane Tharp, Campbellsburg, Darlene Stinson Smith, Carrollton, Sally Ann Preston, Pleasureville; four sons, Larry Lane Smith, Bedford, Charles Forest Smith, Shelbyville, David Carl Smith and Allen Wayne Smith, both of Carrollton; three sisters; one brother; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
