Trimble County High School’s senior class is participating in College Application Week through Nov. 18. As part of Kentucky’s college access initiative, TCHS staff members will be working with seniors to complete and submit one or more college applications.
Many students have already submitted applications but the goal is to have a 100 percent completion rate of the students in the class.
Additionally, senior seminars will be held with the group to assist with financial aid, scholarships and housing options.
A meeting was held with parents earlier in the week to help prepare them for the transition of their students to college.
The goal of the program is to get more students applying to Kentucky colleges during the fall of their senior year. During this event, students may apply to any community college, independent college or public university in which they are interested. Representatives from the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority will be on hand to assist students in this process.
Brigette Kunselman, TCHS Guidance Counselor, and TCHS Principal Stirling “Buddy” Sampson expect each of the 83 seniors to participate.
Students are expected to enjoy a fun week of seminars and activities designed to help them focus on the next step following receipt of their high school diploma.
