Russell Gaines Edrington, 66, Madison, Ind., died Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012 at his home

Russell entered this life on Aug. 4, 1945 in Turner’s Station, Ky. He was the loving son of the late, Thomas and Trula Burch Edrington. Russell was a 1965 graduate of Henry County High School. He resided most of his life in Trimble County moving to Madison in 2006. He had worked early in life for Meese Manufacturing as a machine operator. Later he worked at LG&E in security for several years. He then took a position at Hanover College in security for several years. He retired after 13 years of service in security and maintenance with Grote Industries. Russell attended the Milton United Methodist Church for several years. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, Jefferson Post 9 in Madison. He loved sports, especially UK basketball and the Cincinnati Reds baseball. He enjoyed collecting coins and baseball cards. Russell loved hanging out at the Ohio River in downtown Madison, dancing, going to Frisch’s and Wal-Mart.

Survivors include a daughter, Kelli Ann  (Mike) Hughes, Lexington, Ind; a son, Shawn P. (Heather McIntire) Edrington, Milton, Ky; his grandchildren: Elizabeth Paige Edrington, Hannah Grace Hughes, Candace and Cameron McIntire; a brother: David T. (Norma) Edrington, Madison, Ind; his sisters, Julia Backus, Canaan, Ind, Maxine Gault, Florida; his brothers in law, William Paul McDaniels, Orange, Texas, Jack McDaniels, Madison, Indiana, Don McDaniels, Madison, Indiana; several nieces, nephews & other relatives.

His parents, Thomas and Trula Burch Edrington; his wife, Nancy Jane McDaniels Edrington died, Dec. 14, 2009; his daughter, Jennifer Jane Edrington died, Feb. 14, 1972; his father in law & mother in law, Raymond C. & Nellie Jane Lazenby McDaniels preceded him in death.

Services will be Wednesday, Feb. 29, 2012, 11 a.m., Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana with Pastor Bob Leach officiating.

Burial will follow in Springdale Cemetery in Madison, Indiana

Visitation will be Wednesday from 9 a.m. until time of the service at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Ind.

The family requests memorials in memory of Russell to the Edrington Grandchildren’s Education Fund, contribution cards are available at the funeral home.
