Rotary’s state fair booth displays art of Trimble Co.

Special to The Trimble Banner
The 2015 Trimble County booth for the 2015 Kentucky State Fair was ready for the fair’s opening day last Thursday and has received a steady flow of visitors in the “Pride of Counties” section in the South Wing.
The Bedford Rotary Club has annually organized and developed the booth using a different theme each year, this year’s being “The Artisans and Art of Trimble County.” Beautiful paintings and other art were put together on August 17 by Bedford Rotarians and local “Friends of Rotary” volunteers. Special thanks go to Vicki Eldridge of the Apple Tree Studio in Bedford for all the extra help in assembling much of the art.
The fair booth would not be possible without the many county volunteers who service the booth during four-hour shifts while the State Fair is open (Aug. 20-30). This year, 64 people mainly from Trimble County are involved. In the past, all volunteers expressed much appreciation for being asked, and truly enjoyed the experience and opportunity to represent our county and to meet the many folks who dropped by to learn more about our community.
On opening day this year, we were especially happy to have had Miss Trimble County Fair, Ashby Drake, visit and we took the opportunity to get a picture of her in front of the booth. (See photo on Page 1.)
The fair booth also requires monetary support. This year, as in the past, funding is being provided by Trimble County Fiscal Court, Farm Bureau, and the Bedford Rotary Club. We also thank “Riverside Produce” in Milton for donations of candy being given away.
A special treat this year will be a drawing for a $50 gift card following the fair of tickets signed by visitors at the booth. See you all at the Trimble County Booth, Pride of Counties Row, State Fair, 2015!
