CARROLLTON, Ky. – Rosemary C. Ramsey, 71 of Carrollton died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008, in Carrollton.

A Mass of Christian Burial was said Friday, Oct. 17, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 507 Fifth St., Carrollton, with the Rev. Kavungal Davy officiating. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton.

Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, 509 Highland Ave., Carrollton, was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Ramsey was born May 8, 1937, to the late Thomas Leroy and Cora (England) Cope in Greenfield, Highland County, Ohio.

She retired in 2007 after 22 years as  deputy clerk in the Carroll County Property Valuation Administrator’s office.

She was a member of the St. John Catholic Church  and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post No. 41 in Carrollton.

She was involved for many years in the American  Legion T-ball and G-ball leagues, and also was active for many years with the Carroll County High School Athletic Boosters.

She was a former teacher’s aide in the Carroll County Head Start program.

Survivors include her daughter, Joellen Ramsey of Carrollton; a son, Douglas W. Ramsey, also of Carrollton; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, James T. Ramsey; three brothers, Robert Cope, Thomas Cope and Pearl Cope.

Pallbearers were Doug Fothergill, Chuck Webster, L.B. Arney, Kenny Cole, David Robertson and Mike Gividen.
