Bob Robertson joined Carroll County Memorial Hospital as the new chief financial officer on June 16.
He replaces Louis Vetter, who served as interim chief executive officer from April to November 2007. Vetter stayed on as interim CFO after Kanute Rarey was hired CEO.
Robertson has been in the health-care industry since 1974, starting with Catholic Health Initiatives in Wisconsin and North Dakota. Later, he became CFO of Delta Memorial Hospital, a 25-bed critical-access hospital in Dumas, Ark., managed by Quorum Health Resources. Quorum later transferred him to work as CFO at Hoopeston Regional Medical Center in Hoopeston, Ill.
Robertson said his wife, Mary, loves Carrollton, and the couple is looking to buy a home here.
“Everyone is so hospitable here, and she is looking to stay here long term,” he said. “I just wonder if people who have lived here all their lives realize how wonderful it is here.”
Robertson said he enjoys his career in health care. “I am a people person,” he said. “I also enjoy golfing, hiking and flying.”
Robertson is a pilot and owns his own plane, which he will be bringing to Carrollton. The couple has two children and six grandchildren.
