Reva S. Burrows, 95

SULPHUR, Ky. – Reva S. Burrows, 95, of Sulphur died Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2008, at Baptist Hospital Northeast in La Grange, Ky.

Mrs. Burrows was born May 22, 1913, in Trimble County to the late Joseph E. Johnson Spillman and Minnie Wright Spillman. She married Hubert "Shug" Burrows on Jan. 3, 1932.

She was an active lifetime member of Sligo Baptist Church. She taught Sunday school and was active in the WMU. She enjoyed taking care of her family, fishing and gardening, and was known for her knitting and crocheting.

Survivors include a daughter, Jo Ann (Bobby K.) True of Bedford; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Glen Spillman of Pendleton and James Spillman, Louisville; two sisters, Wilma Gilbert of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Ruth Ehrman of San Antonio, Texas.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and four sisters, Ethel Burnett, Anita Reynolds, Josephine Arnold and Lucille Hutcherson.

Services were Friday, Sept. 12, at Sligo Baptist Church, with the Revs. Earl Wayne Perry and Bradford Laubinger officiating. Interment followed at Sligo Cemetery, Pendleton.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Sligo Baptist Church Building Fund; cards are available at the funeral home and at the church.

Ransdell Funeral Home in Bedford was in charge of arrangements.
