The Rev. Nancy Barton, D.Min., 79, died on January 9, 2013.
Born on July 15, 1933 in Washington, D.C., Nancy was a longtime resident of Frankfort, Ky. She earned a B.A. at Niagara University and an M.A. in Education at the University of Kentucky. She later attended the Lexington Theological Seminary and was ordained a priest in the Episcopal Church. She had the care of St. Agnes House in Lexington. Nancy became a Doctor of Ministry at the University of the South in Sewanee. She then became rector of St. Mary’s Church in Cadillac, Michigan, where she retired from the Lord’s service.
Nancy is survived by her three children, Garrett Barton of Colorado Springs; Elizabeth Barton, of Waddy, Ky.; and Andrea Dunlap, of Bedford; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, James B. Barton, and by her granddaughter Jessica Dunlap.
