Ralph Wilkerson Gibson, 86

PARIS, Ky. – Ralph Wilkerson Gibson, 86, of Paris died Friday, Nov. 7, 2008, at his residence.

Graveside services were Monday, Nov. 10, at the Paris Cemetery, with the Rev. Reggie Gentry officiating.

Mr. Gibson was born Oct. 9, 1922, in Alton, Ky., to the late Ethel and Victor Gibson.

He and his wife, Bee, were formerly from Carrollton, Ky.

He graduated from Harrodsburg High School. He entered the U.S. Army and served in the Armed Services Tank Division in the Philippines during World War II.

After the war, he was employed by South Central Bell Telephone Company until his retirement in 1978. Later he joined the staff at Eastern State Hospital, where he was an engineer until the time of his death.

Survivors include his three daughters, Deedie (Jack Jr.) Tucker and Melissa Gibson, both of Paris, and Gail (Dub) Malaise of Dallas, Texas; and three grandchildren,

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice “Bee” McNamer Gibson.

Pallbearers were Jack Tucker, Dub Malaise, Chris McIntosh, Jim Hayden, David Eads and Bill Fryer.
