The Trimble County Raiders baseball team closed out their 2012 season on Monday, falling to South Oldham, 10-0, in the opening game of the Kentucky High School Athletic Association’s 29th District Baseball Tournament at Crestwood.
The Raiders closed out regular season play last week with a hectic schedule of games on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Trimble traveled to Williamstown on Wednesday and bedeviled the Demons in an 11-1 rout. On the following night Trimble blanked Eminence behind a no-hit pitching effort by senior Dylan Staples.
The game—Trimble’s final home outing of the season—was called after five innings with the Raiders leading 10-0. The 10-run rule came into play again on Friday night but this time the Raiders were on the short end of an 11-1 score after six innings of play.
Trimble closes the diamond season with a 10-18 record.
