Punishment Youth Wrestling Academy, located in Milton, Kentucky had an extremely successful 2011-2012 Wrestling season. The Academy is a training facility for area youth ages 4 and up who wish to learn the sport of competitive wrestling.
PWA provides instruction on three types of Wrestling, Folkstyle, Freestyle and Greco-Roman. The Academy welcomes wrestlers from both Kentucky and Indiana, and provides basic to advanced technique instruction.
The young grapplers of PWA won 80 individual season tournament championships at various tournaments held in both Kentucky and Indiana, including 39 individual State Championships from Kentucky and Indiana.
Ten PWA wrestlers won the title of Triple Crown Champion, winning state Championships in Kentucky in Folkstyle, Freestyle and Greco-Roman: Braedon Spears, Brody Cull, Bryce Turner, Camden Spears, Eli McGillan, Gage Sproles, Nathan Moore, Noah Foster, Pauly Trippett and Skylar Lee. Six won Kentucky State Folkstyle Open Championships: Braedon Spears, Bryce Turner, Noah Foster, Pauly Trippett, Ryan Hart and Skylar Lee. Gage Sproles and Noah Foster both won Indiana State Freestyle Championships. Gage Sproles also won the Indiana State Greco-Roman Championship.
An Awards Ceremony was held at Punishment Wrestling Academy on May 25, 2012, with all of the PWA Cobra’s being recognized for their accomplishments on and off the mat, the highest accomplishment being ALL wrestlers receiving Academic Honor awards.
Punishment Wrestling Academy prides itself on its reputation of being great sportsmen and students both on and off the mat.
The Cobra’s of PWA are led by Head Coach John Turner and Assistant Coaches Chris Turner, Paul Trippett, Daniel Cull, Eric Cordell, Justin McGillan and Jeremy Gordon. The Academy is co-owned by Suzy Sachleben-Turner and Chris Turner.
Information packets are now available for the 2012-2013 PWA Season. Pre-season practices and Open Gym’s will begin in August. Youth who participate in other sports are welcome. Contact Coach John at 502-663-1405 for information.
