With colder weather settling in ,it is “comforting” to know that sixteen homes in Carroll County are warmer through the efforts of volunteers from Project Comfort. October’s blitz day allowed 60-plus volunteers to address lingering problems in the homes of seniors related to warmth and energy conservation. The crews worked on doors, windows, insulation, and electrical needs. As is the custom of the effort, the fine souls of Project Comfort’s crews were not afraid to address problems both large and small with their ample skill and heart. They also spend whatever money is necessary to fix the needs. We owe due thanks to Dow Corning and CAP for their generosity toward this effort. While the work of Project Comfort is year-round with more extensive projects beyond a day’s labor, the Saturday blitz day is an inspirational effort for those seeking a day to observe the reach of local folks for local needs.
