The 2011 gardening season sure had its ups and downs. The season got off to a very wet start with way too much rain in April and May, delaying planting. We followed that with weeds and disease, insects and drought. You may be delighted to put gardening behind you for the season, but fall is the time to manage and prevent disease in next year’s garden, according to Kenny Seebold, UK Extension Plant Pathologist. Summer crops may still be standing, even after being killed by heavy frosts and cold temperatures.
