Trimble County cattlemen have the opportunity to participate three livestock programs starting October 1, and continuing through December 19, 2012.
Regional Beef Field Day: Plan to join us on Monday, October 1, at TNT Farms in Ballardsville, Ky. Registration starts at 4:30 p.m. You will have time to visit exhibits before the tours at 5:15 – 7 p.m. UK Extension Service and Natural Resource Conservation Service specialists will lead walking tours which will include topics on Marketing Situation and Outlook, Benefits of Crossbreeding, Pasture Reseeding and Drought Issues, Managed Breeding Season and Fall Calving, and Conservation Practices. Trimble County Cattlemen’s Meeting: Join us on Tuesday, October 8, at the Trimble County Extension Office for our third quarter meeting. If you need Beef Quality Assurance certification or recertification, plan to arrive by 5:30 p.m. for this training. Dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. with the program to follow at 7 p.m.
Master Stocker Program: This program begins on Thursday, October 25, and concludes on December 20, 2012. The Master Stocker program is an educational program that is open to any beef producer who is involved in, or interested in, stocker cattle. This program includes eight classroom sessions. Topics covered will improve your understanding of best management recommendations for stocker and backgrounding operations. Registration is $50 and includes meals and program materials.
