The 2010 Carroll County Senior Event held Thursday evening was again a big success as senior citizens from Carroll and surrounding counties came out to enjoy “Pioneers at the Point.” We wish to thank the hard work of the planning committee, time given to building the fort, wishing well and other effects for the event. We wish to thank all of our “actors” – the spinners, quilters, basket makers and medicine man who added pioneer spirit to the event. We thank the groups who entertained us with music, storytelling, guns and hatchets.

We express our appreciation to the City of Carrollton, Carroll County Fiscal Court, and local businesses and industry for monetary support and donations.

We also want to thank some other special groups and individuals who have always supported us. We thank the work of the Carroll County Detention Center for building the set and preparing food for the event. We express our appreciation to the Carroll County Fair Board for providing the tents, tables and chairs for the Event. Thank you again for this generous service.

We also thank the Carrollton Police Department for providing security and traffic management, the Carrollton Department of Public Works for help in setting up, the Carroll County Ambulance Service and Carrollton Fire Department for emergency protection and Senior Services of Northern Kentucky, Carroll County Senior Center for helping with transportation. We also thank The News-Democrat for your support in many ways to promote and publicize the event. We thank you, Lamon Stark for doing an outstanding job of Master of Ceremonies. Thank you, Ron Holloway for taking all the photos of seniors for their remembrance.

We may have not listed everyone personally who were part of the event, but wish to thank everyone in Carroll County who helped in some way to make this event possible. The Carroll County Senior Event is a total community effort. Thank you everyone in Carroll County who has a part in making it happen.
