MADISON Ind. – Orville Jesse Skirvin, 76, died Monday, Nov. 24, 2008, at his residence near Madison.

Mr. Skirvin chose cremation; there will be no funeral services. Morgan and Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive, Madison, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Skirvin was born, Feb., 10, 1932, in Switzerland County, Ind., to the late Deward B. and Mary E. (McKinney) Skirvin.

He was employed at the former Carrollton Furniture Factory and later worked for 28 years as a welder and weld inspector for Williamson Company in Madison.

He was a member of the Madison Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He enjoyed gardening and the outdoors.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Linda Joyce (Farrell) Skirvin of Madison; a son, Jeffrey A. (Beth) Skirvin, Madison; a daughter, Tasha (Mark) Mowery, Madison; a brother, Franklin D. Skirvin, Madison; four sisters, Lida Bea Charles, Margaret Skirvin and Peggy Bentley, all of Kentucky, and Avanell Randall of Hanover, Ind.; and four grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John W. Deward and Leslie Skirvin.
