Order Kentucky tree seedlings

-A A +A

Plan now for your late winter and early spring tree-planting activities by ordering tree seedlings through the Kentucky Division of Forestry.

Nearly 50 species including baldcypress, black walnut, white oak, yellow-poplar, dogwood, redbud and many more are now available for public and private use.

Species that have been added in the past several years include roughleaf
dogwood, Washington hawthorn, mulberry, pawpaw, river birch and hazelnut.  Seedlings are used for reforestation, timber production, wildlife habitat, erosion control, windbreaks and other conservation projects.

The bare-root seedlings, available in bundles of 10 to 100, are one to two years old and range in price from $24 to $55 per bundle.  Seedlings are available on a first-come, first serve basis; therefore, orders should be made as soon as possible.  For specific information about availability and prices, contact the Kentucky Division of Forestry at 1-800-866-0555 or visit KDF’s  web site at: forestry.ky.gov/statenurseriesandtreeseedlings/
