Ohio River bridge inspections set Milton bridge down to 1 lane tomorrow

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans joint walk-through inspections with the Indiana Department of Transportation on three Ohio River bridges this week. These inspections allow engineers an annual review of the structures and opportunity to discuss future maintenance projects on shared river crossings.

These inspections will require traffic restrictions to accommodate inspections on the following schedule:

Wednesday, August 15th--Interstate 65 John F. Kennedy Memorial Bridge - Right lane will be closed on northbound I-65 from 9:00 a.m. until noon.     Wednesday, August 15th--Interstate 64 Sherman Minton Bridge - Right lane will be closed in each direction on I-64 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.     Thursday, August 16th—U.S. 421 Milton-Madison Bridge - Roadway will be reduced to one lane from 9:00 a.m. until noon.

Caution is required where equipment, flaggers, and inspection personnel are on the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.

The starting date and duration of work may be adjusted for inclement weather or other unforeseeable delays.
