Weather buff? Learn to spot tornados

Trimble and Henry county Emergency Management officials are offering a free tornado spotter’s class at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, at Kentucky State Police Post 5, Citation Lane, Campbellsburg, Ky. For more information or to sign up, call (502) 255-4281.

Relay teams host 2nd Chili Cook-Off

Need to get the taste of Valentine’s chocolate out of your mouth? Come to the Relay for Life Chili Cook-Off at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, at the Milton Lions Club. Eat for free, but donations are welcomed.
Each team will bring a pot of their own chili recipe, and donations will decide which is the winning recipe.
All proceeds benefit the Trimble County Relay for Life fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.

County Spelling Bee set for Feb. 16

The top spellers from Trimble County’s elementary and middle schools will compete at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, in the library at Bedford Elementary School.
Homeschoolers interested in competing should call Phyllis McLaughlin at The Banner, (502) 255-3205, for study guides and to sign up for the event.
In the event of inclement weather, the Bee will be held Feb. 23.
