The Bedford Cemetery Board would like to remind everyone that mowing season begins in April.
Cemetery policy states that no flowers or other items can be placed on the ground near headstones or in the mowing path. If you have items on the ground, please remove them. If the items are not removed before mowing begins, we will have to discard them.
No benches or other items can be placed where they will interfere with the mowing. The Bedford Cemetery Board or its contractors cannot be held responsible for missing items.
However, if you have a flower saddle on a headstone, please mark it with the deceased’s name so that if it gets blown off, we can try to place it back where it belongs. If there is no name, we will have to throw it away.
Vases must be secured to the headstones, and it is the owner’s responsibility to seal them. There are a lot of vases falling over because they are not fastened to the stones.
If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at (502) 255-4879.
Thank you for your help in keeping the cemetery looking nice.
