Gerald Owens, who has served on the Milton City Commission for the past 15 years, has resigned the position due to health issues.
Milton Mayor Denny Jackson announced the resignation following an executive session during Thursday’s commission meeting at the Milton Municipal Building.
“He has served the city very well for 15 years,” Jackson said. “He always has had the city’s best interests at heart.”
The commissioners voted to accept the resignation, with Jackson saying, “We accept it with regret.”
