Wilma Oakley, owner of the Wood-Oakley Funeral Home in Milton, recently attended the 130th Annual Funeral Directors Association of Kentucky’s Convention, held June 18-20, 2012, at the Kentucky International Convention Center and the Hyatt Regency in Louisville.

This year’s annual convention featured highly regarded local and national funeral service speakers who presented topical issues related to business and management practices, regulatory updates, technical skills and training and other funeral services professional issues. Attendance at the FDAK Convention provides funeral directors a forum to receive and exchange information. FDAK members return home with new ideas that will allow them to better serve the families in their communities.

Wilma is a licensed funeral director and embalmer, and a member of the Funeral Directors Association of Kentucky, which represents licensed directors and also licenses funeral home establishments throughout the state. In addition, it promotes high standards within the field of funeral service through its continuing education programs.

Wilma says, “Many new services and options are now available for families. Drop by and let me share some of our new services that will assist you with end of life decisions.”
