Editor:
I am working on a second book of “People and Places” of Trimble County. I plan to dedicate a section of this to the veterans of Trimble County. I would like everyone who has pictures that are not in this last book to send me one to four photos, along with information about where the veteran served.
This is not limited to World War II veterans; this is open to any person who has served in the military. My goal is to have everyone remembered who took part in the history of Trimble County.
Also, if anyone has old pictures of family or places in Trimble, I would love to include those in “People and Places.”
This volume will have Bible records (Colbert/Stewart plus others). If anyone has family Bible records that they would share, then please make copies and send them to me.
lt may be surprising to some, but there is information in Bible records that is not found elsewhere. For example, my great-grandfather, William H. Lee, always signed Wm. H., but no one knew what the “H” stood for. I finally found someone in Carroll County who had bible records that showed the initial stood for Henry.
When I print a new book I donate one to the Trimble County Public Library and to the Trimble County Court Clerk’s Office. I have also donated many to the Bedford Loan and Deposit Bank and to Farmers Bank of Milton.
I plan to send a copy of my books to the Library of Congress for preservation. Some of my books are already in the Daughters of the American Revoloution Library in Washington, D.C.
I am selling these books at my cost, so everyone can have a record for their future generations. For more information, please call me at (502) 695-0206.
