Man charged with alleged rape of girl, 15

A Carrollton man was arrested Dec. 23 and charged with the alleged rape of a juvenile.

During the investigation, Carrollton Police also charged James E. Richards, 27, with third-degree sodomy. Both charges are Class D felonies.

Richards, who lives on Old Hwy. 227, is alleged to have had an ongoing relationship with the 15-year-old girl, according to Assistant Police Chief Steve Abbott.

The girl’s guardian reported the incidents.
