Special to The Trimble Banner
Madison Municipal Airport will be presenting their annual air show on October 15. The gates will open at 9 a.m. with free parking and admission. Cooking up their special fish, chicken, and much more during the event will be the Milton Fire Department.
At 11 a.m. Mayor Tim Armstrong will open the day and the Broken Wing Club will demonstrate their model airplanes and jets. Then at 12 noon “Pitts Bob”, “Emerson Stewart”, “Hollywood”, and “Cliff Robinson”, will be executing acrobatic maneuvers. Some of the maneuvers are Hammerhead Rolls, Loops, Dead Stick Routine, Motorcycle vs Bi-Plane and much more.
Our local airport is home to approximately 75 pilots from Louisville, Ky.; Trimble Co., Ky.; Jefferson Co. Ind.; and the surrounding area. There will be various airplanes on display with pilots ready to answer questions and show you their planes.
One of the unique aspects of the Madison Municipal Airport is that it provides fuel and hanger space for our local air ambulance service, Air Methods (KY11), based in Trimble Co. Kentucky, which provides service to Kentucky and Southern Indiana.
KY11 provides advanced life support and rapid transport of trauma and medical patients to appropriate medical facilities. The Air Methods crew will be on hand to show everyone their helicopter and answer questions.
This is a day for everyone to come out and learn all about the local airport and aviation.
