The first 600-foot section of superstructure for the new Milton-Madison bridge is being built in two 300-ft sections on barges on the Milton shore. Pier-strengthening work can be seen on Piers 3 and 4.
The new and the old. Workmen are shown assembling the bridge with the aid of lift baskets. Connecting sections of steel where framing sections come together are painted with a gray primer and will be painted the same at the other truss members when assembly is completed.
