Library’s summer reading program schedule

The Summer Reading Fun program at the Trimble County Public Library gets underway this week. Besides reading for fun and prizes, the months of June and July are packed with exciting, free programs! Following is the schedule of June fun events planned for the library.

Friday  June 8, 2 p.m.: Dreamcatchers  Ages: 3rd Grade and up 
Dreamcatchers are traditional Ojibwa crafts, believed to protect sleepers from nightmares.  We’ll share a story about dreamcatchers and then you will make one to take home.  Supplies are provided.  REGISTER for this FREE program by calling 255-7362.

Wednesdays, June 13 & June 27. 10:30 a.m.: Stories For Kids. Preschoolers, bring a favorite adult and come to a story time at the library! Tera and her librarian friends will present favorite books, stories and songs for preschoolers and their families. Registration is not required.

Thursday  June 14th   10:30 a.m.: Puppet Workshop. Grades 1 – 3
Come play with puppets at the library!  We’ll practice holding the puppet, using puppet voices and performing with a puppet stage. REGISTER  for this FREE program by calling 255-7362.

Tuesday, June 19, 6:30  p.m.: Stuffed Animal Sleepover. Kids, do you have a stuffed animal who would like to spend the night at the library?  Bring him for this special sleepover event!  You’ll share a goodnight story with your friend and tuck him into bed. Then, leave your animal to spend the night at the library with his friends!  Don’t worry, the librarians will take care of him and make sure he has a fun time. Pick up your friend the next morning and see pictures of the fun! REGISTER for this FREE program. Please register by calling the library at 255-7362.
(Note for parents: You may pick up the animal after 9 a.m. Wednesday. Be sure to bring an animal that your child will not miss too much at bedtime!)
