On Thursday, March 24, 2011 the Kids’ Café welcomed Dare to Care representatives and other members of the community to an open house. Dare to Care sponsors the Kids’ Café that is a program designed to feed children and others who might not otherwise be able to have a nutritious hot meal after school. It is open to anyone on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Morgan Community center after school from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Rita Davis, Donna Hale, Chris Kopcho, Becky Ryan and Tiffany Reilly prepared a Mexican feast of tacos, rice, beans, and all the condiments. The tables at the community center were bedecked with festive green, white and red table clothes including literature about nutrition, balloons, and cheerful ribbons for the open house celebration. Dare to Care representatives, Annette M. Ball and Kimberly Gravely mingled with the crowd of about 30 people to play games and allow children to receive a toy.
