CARROLLTON, Ky. – Kenneth C. Wood, 77, of Carrollton died Thursday, Oct. 16, 2008, at New Horizons Assisted Living Center in Carrollton.
Services were Monday, Oct. 20, at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, 809 Highland Ave., Carrollton, with Dr. Bob Brocious officiating. Burial was in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Carrollton.
Mr. Wood was born March 26, 1931, to the late William Alexander and Ella Florence (Bell) Wood in Falmouth, Pendleton County, Ky.
He was a corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
An arson investigator for the Kentucky State Police, he retired after serving 40 plus years for various law enforcement agencies.
He was a member of the Carrollton Christian Church and the Carrollton American Legion Post No. 41. He enjoyed golfing and fishing.
Survivors include a daughter, Leigh Ann Grant of Petersburg, Ky.; a son, Kevin Wayne Wood of Fort Thomas, Ky.; two brothers, Randall Wood of Fort Thomas and Phillip Wood of Falmouth, Ky.; and five grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jan Wood, five sisters and two brothers.
Pallbearers were David Delph, Jared Chowning, Jeff Chowning, Gerald Keith Fields, Doug G. Gosney and Steve Wood.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans in care of the funeral home.
