EDITOR’S NOTE: The following is the fifth and final installment in a series of childhood memories penned by the late Giles Hancock Wood in January 1941. Mrs. Wood’s writings offer glimpses of life in Trimble County in the late 19th century. The memories, edited by a granddaughter, June Lehue Haney, were made available to The Trimble Banner by a grandson, former Milton Mayor Gary Rowlett.
