To the editor,

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Billie Jo Jones. I was hired in August 2001 as Trimble County Family Court Deputy Clerk by June Ginn, Trimble County Circuit Clerk of 19 years.

In January 2007 June Ginn retired and Theresa Edwards was the newly elected Trimble County Circuit Clerk. After working only one day for the newly elected Circuit Clerk Theresa Edwards January 4, 2007 she made seven allegations against me.

In March 2007, only three months in office Theresa Edwards fired a co-worker of mine. That person hired an attorney and received their job back. On July 21, 2008, Theresa Edwards fired me from the office. Then in October 2008 her chief deputy clerk resigned from her job

I want to thank the people of Trimble County for the opportunity to have been able to serve them for the past seven years. I loved serving as Family Court Deputy Clerk and helping people when they were having problems. I also enjoyed issuing driver licenses and making people smile when I took their picture.

I really do miss working with the people of Trimble County. Maybe I will get this opportunity again someday to serve you. I have met a lot of people in the seven years I was able to serve and enjoyed every minute of that time.

I just want everyone in the community to know what kind of person is in the Trimble County Circuit Clerk’s office and what Theresa Edwards has done to the experienced people in the office.

I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year.
