The Raiders 5th grade boys beat Pope John Saturday in the first round of the league tournament 23-13. David Duncan led the team with 12 points, Dane Lacefield 4, Logan Clifford, Evan Stevens, Duncan Ralston had 2 points each and Shane Mills had 1. Clifford led the team with 9 rebounds and Grant Weaver had 5.

With a blind draw for seeding,  the Raiders second game featured the 2 best teams in the tournament. The lead was back and forth the entire game but going into the 4th quarter Trimble was down 22-19. St. Marys had the lead almost the entire 4th quarter but with a minute to go Evan Stevens hit a 3 pointer that tied the game at 28. The Wildcats responded, scoring quickly and were up 30-28. The Raiders came down and were fouled but missed the front end of a 1 and 1 and St. Marys got the rebound. Trimble had to foul on 3 consecutive plays to get St. Marys to the line for the bonus. With 15 seconds to go Logan Clifford took the rebound off the missed free throw and passed it to Dane Lacefield who drove down the court, pulled up near the top of the key and drained a 3 pointer to put Trimble up 31-30, with 6 seconds to go and give them their first lead of the quarter. Trimble went to a full court press which caused a St. Marys turnover. With 4 seconds left Clifford end bounded the ball and with St. Marys defenders chasing him, Lacefield dribbled out the clock to preserve the win and advance to the semifinal game. Stevens led the team in scoring with 11 points followed by Lacefield with 9, David Duncan 5, Ben Stevens 4 and Shane Mills with 2 points.
