Boys’ Varsity Golf Coach
After the first three matches of the season, both the Trimble County High School boys’ and girls’ golf teams stood with perfect records. The girls have just enough with their four players (Charissa Huff, Hayley Baker, Brooke Huff and Kate Staples) to complete a full team, but it has proved to be a good group, though, defeating the likes of Walton Verona, Williamstown and Gallatin County already this season. The girls suffered a loss on Aug. 18 when only two of the Lady Raiders were available to play against Southwestern and Clarksville. The girls look to improve on their record as they move through their conference schedule.
The Trimble County boys’ team won their matches with multiple members contributing to their overall score. They remain strong with their core three of Dylan Staples, Jordan Tingle and Tanner Stark, while both Craig Ward and Conner Beard have helped to bring home team victories.
This team is one of the strongest the school has seen in the past few years. Team members acquired their wins by defeating Gallatin County, Williamstown and Henry County. They understand, though, that their toughest competition is yet to come in Owen County and Walton-Verona.
They are definitely excited by their ability to win against these schools, and they have been working hard to do so this season. With early morning practices and a different approach to their regular season matches from last year, they are learning to play smart but also aggressive. When these things all come together, these boys have the talent to continue their winning ways.
In early August, the boys played in the Shelby Co. Invitational and defeated the likes of John Hardin, Jeffersontown, Evangel Christian and Bardstown. Since then, they truly have believed they can match up with anyone.
The boys’ and girls’ golf teams would like to thank Cardinal Hills Golf Course for allowing them to use their facilities once again this year.
The boys’ golf team would also like to thank the following businesses for supporting them this year: Malibu Photo, Canida Dentistry, Stark Insurance, Bedford Loan & Deposit, South Oldham Medical Clinic, Bluegrass Drug Center, Creech Farms, H&R Block of Carrollton, Bedford Stop & Go, Rand Insurance, Farmers Bank of Milton, Sedam Family Farms, McCubbin Motors, Hinckley Water, Staples Beef, Uppercaseliving, Cedar Lake Lodge, Mystic Massage Stephanie Beard-LMT, Brays Orchard, North Madison Christian Church, MJ’s Construction, Greves’ TV & Appliances, SST-Sport Specific Training and Ransdell Funeral Home.
