Extension to celebrate 100 years of Trimble County

-A A +A

The Trimble County Cooperative Extension Council is working on a project called 100 Years of Trimble County.  Since the University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service is celebrating 100 years of county agents, the Extension Council thought it would be a good idea to expand upon this theme, to include 100 years of Trimble County.

Trimble County has a rich and interesting history.  A heritage we as Trimble residents can take great pride in.   Our Extension Council committee wants to take a look at the past 100 years focusing on eight categories that have had an impact on this county.

*Cooperative Extension Service

*Government/Civic Groups

*Historical Interviews

There have been many changes in our county during this time.  One of the big changes recently is the construction of a new bridge spanning the Ohio River between Milton, Kentucky and Madison, Indiana.

If you have old photos (color or black and white) that would fit into one of the above categories, the Extension Council would very much appreciate your sharing them with us for this project.  The photos will be scanned and put into a database and video that will be shared with everyone during a celebration event at the Trimble County Extension office on Saturday, May 12, 2013.  We will have more information about this event in our newsletter and articles.  All photos will be carefully safeguarded and promptly returned by mail to their owners at our expense.  Or, if you prefer, we will call you by phone so they can be picked up at your convenience.   We will accept pictures for scanning November 1, 2012—April 1, 2013.

The information we need for each picture includes: name, address, phone number and e-mail of picture owner.  Names of individuals in each picture; year/date picture was taken; location of picture, a brief description and category of the picture.  We will provide a simple form for you to complete for submitting photos.
