Dorothy Pierce Sanders Staples, 89 of Bedford, died at the Carroll County Memorial Hospital on Dec. 29, 2012. She was born on Feb. 3, 1923 in Trimble County to the late James Pierce Sanders and Cleo Teague Sanders.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Cecil Staples, son Gary L. Staples, daughter Carole Jane, sister Virginia Greenwood, and brother Kenneth Sanders.
