Residents in the heart of Bedford will once again have adequate warning of an approaching tornado once the warning siren at the Bedford Volunteer Fire Department is repaired. The members of the Bedford City Commission voted on April 16 to advance $12,000 to the department from budgeted funds allocated for the volunteer fire department’s use that would normally be paid in June.
Lt. Will McCoy approached the commissioners on behalf of the fire department for financial assistance toward repair of the siren.
