MADISON, Ind. – Carolyn Sue Pender Conrad, 52, of Madison died, Saturday, July 12, 2008, in a motorcycle accident in Versailes, Ind.
Funeral services were Friday, July 18, at Morgan and Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive, Madison, with the Rev. Frank McGee officiating. Burial was at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison, Ind.
Mrs. Conrad was born Sept. 15, 1955, in Madison to Earl Lee Pender and Mary B. Buchanan Pender Shaffer. She was a graduate of Madison High School and a member of the First Baptist Church in Madison.
She was a waitress at the former Madison Country Club and also worked as a cook and kitchen manager for 10 years at the Madison Moose Lodge No. 765. She last worked as the soda fountain manager at the former Perry and Dunbar Drug Store in downtown Madison.
She was a member of Jefferson Post 9 of the American Legion and the Moose Lodge. She enjoyed spending time in Ft. Myers, Fla. with her husband.
Survivors include a daughter; Wendy (Brian Copeland) Abbott of Lexington, Ind.; her mother of Madison; a stepson, Staff Sgt. Jeremy S. (Maria) Conrad, stationed at RAF Lakenheath, England; two sisters, Cindy Pender (Eddie) Anderson of Nabb, Ind., and Cathy Pender Abbott of Hanover, Ind.; two brothers, Jack (Ellana) Fisher and Charles (Phyllis) Pender, all of Madison; a granddaughter; three step-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her father in 1979.
